Artifact: EDCI 56900: Managing Your Music with iTunes eLearning Course, Digital Prototype, and Evaluation Report
Effectively communicates content through the design and delivery of teaching/learning activities that integrate content and pedagogy
The Managing Your Music with iTunes eLearning course was a fun and interesting project for me. After learning more learning theory and studying some of the fundamentals of multimedia design I was able to push the experience I had building elearning and try some new ideas and software. Though I had built branching scenarios before I had never built a whole course that branched. Additionally, This course was built in Articulate Storyline. The paper prototype and evaluation data show the process I took to develop and design the course.
Communicates effectively in oral and written formats, Demonstrates the ability to adapt instruction and assessment techniques to the needs of diverse learners
This project highlights my ability to communicate effectively and adapt learning to a diverse audience. By choosing iTunes as the overall topic, my audience was very diverse due to the large number of people that use iTunes. Because of this I chose to use a heavily branched approach hoping this would allow people to take the sections that they either had interest in or did not already know. Based on the feedback and evaluation data I gather this technique worked and my communication methods worked.
I also included small assessments and interactive simulations each section as a way for students to gauge their understanding. My hope by using both of these assessment techniques was that the combination would reach all of my audience. Additionally, these provide opportunities for the students to practice the skills they are learning in a safe environment. This combination showcases my ability to adapt assessments to a broad audience.
